Earth Day Celebration
April 2009
Earthday 2009 was filled with sunshine and numerous activities, displays and exhibits focusing on nature and the environment.
One of the highlights for the day was the dedication of the Chimney Swift Tower in memory of Eileen Katz. The tower was constructed by Life Scout Eriks Svarcberg using donations made in Ms. Katz name.
No Celebration is complete without music. Thanks to Jeff Griesemer and the Mountain View Band the afternoon air was filled with wonderful tunes.
Organizations from throughout the county and township residents came to celebrate Earth Day. Shown here is the display from Lawrence Intermediate School.
Mercer County presented a program on wildlife that can be seen right here in our parks.
No Earth Day would be complete with a guided tour.
